Whoa... the line-up for the cash machine is huge. Hang on, it's not for the cash machine - it's for wrist band and ticket collection. This is going to be one hell of a wait. At least the sun is shining. This is the first decent chance for some tan action for the year. I've managed to find Seatwave music reviewer Peter Coulston and we speculate about who will play where.
People are in good spirits, even the policemen are chatty. "Who are you here to see?" one asks. To be perfectly honest, I still haven't decided.
1.00pm
You have GOT to be joking! We've finally reached the ticket collection point... apparently there are two lines - one for people with tickets and one for the people who need to collect them. I didn't need my card after all and now that I've collected it, I need to go back to the end of the mammoth line I just spent the last 45 minutes in. The poor sods around me have found themselves with the same dilemma. Peter, who already has his wrist band does the gallant thing and waits with me - AGAIN. At least this time we have the programme with us. The CD looks good too... some nice tracks from the participating acts. Like I said, lucky it's a beautiful day.
NOTE FOR FRAIDAY PEOPLE: If you're heading to the Crawl today, don't make the same mistake I did. Check that you're in the correct line. It's your beer time at stake.
